First Aid training is one of the most important skills you could learn. In the case of an emergency your training could deliver life-saving assistance to those most in need.
Many individuals will attend training as a work place requirement, however many of the courses we offer at The Training Initiative also welcome individuals looking to learn the skills, for everyday situations.
No matter what your reason is for wanting to learn First Aid, we hope this blog offers helpful information that you may need to know before making the decision to attend a course and gain your qualification.
Before you arrive
Before you attend any First Aid course you may find it useful to research First Aid procedures to give you a better understanding of what to expect. When you attend our course we do not expect you to have any prior experience of First Aid procedures or emergency response, we will be teaching you the techniques you need to know, from scratch. Our courses are designed to support beginners, as well as support this who have come for a refresher on their skills.
There are practical First Aid scenarios during the training, simply turn up with a positive attitude and a willingness to participate in the practical training.
What clothing should I wear?
We always recommend you wear casual, loose fitting and comfy clothing. The practical work will often require you to kneel on the floor, therefore we do suggest trousers and flat shoes.
If you have any physical restraints or disabilities that makes kneeling or physical activity uncomfortable, speak to our team before booking the course, as we want to make sure it is the right fit for you.
